If you want to ask someone about his hobbies, you can ask him one of these questions:
What are your hobbies? - ¿Cuáles son tus pasatiempos?
What do you like to do in your free time? - ¿Qué te gusta hacer en tu tiempo libre?
When someone asks you these questions, you can answer like this:
In my free time I like to... - En mi tiempo libre me gusta...
My hobbies are... - Mis pasatiempos son...
Here you can find some examples:
In my free time I like to read, to paint and to sing. - En mi tiempo libre me gusta leer, pintar y cantar.
My hobbies are reading, painting and singing. - Mis pasatiempos son la lectura, la pintura y el canto.
Now you can see a list of hobbies:
to cook - cocinar
to ride a bicycle - pasear en bicicleta
to play a musical instrument (piano, violin, guitar, flute) - tocar un instrumento musical (piano, violín, guitarra, flauta)
to dance - bailar
to write stories and poems - escribir cuentos y poemas
to practice a sport (basket-ball, volley-ball, soccer, base-ball) - practicar un deporte (basquetbol, voleibol, futbol, béisbol)

gerdening - la jardinería
Now I invite you to read a poem about a poet that spends the whole day having fun with different activities or hobbies.
"Not even a line yesterday I have written"
Not even a line yesterday I have written,
which is for me a fortune never seen;
I did in the morning the conquest
of a graceful nymph whom I visit.
Among friends I ate with apetite;
I was, later, a violinist in a concert,
and they applauded me like a good versist
in a certain scholarly cabal.
I had fun at a ball, I came back by car,
and the day passed like an instant.
What fun, so varied, so complete!
What a happy life! But that night
it took away my sleep ... Who? A consonant
Oh, wretched poet's life!
Tomas de Iriarte
